Guess Who's Back...Back Again? ;)

I have been M.I.A for over a year, tsk tsk. I had an extremely rough 2013, but so far i am fortunate to say that 2014 has been treating me unbelievably good. So news since I have been absent? March: I went to the Paid Dues Festival at the San Manuel Amphitheatre in Devore for the 5th year in a row with my sister, brother in law, and bestfriend Leo. I had a life changing experience, to say the least. May: I started leaning towards lighter hair and lightened mine to a dark blonde (i am now almost platinum). June: Definitely the worst month in all of 2013, I lost two of my uncles and one of my closest friends in one week. It was an extremely difficult time, but with the help of my actual loved ones (and virtual friends of instagram) I felt the support and positivity pick me up tremendously. I seriously thank each and every one of you who have helped me during my rough times. However, a positive did come out of this month, I began dating my current boyfriend. We have known eachother since the 7th grade, and I am so fortunate to have a relationship with such a great guy. (Plus, he towers me, and I have some serious height! ;) ) December: My baby brother turned fourteen *tear* i love him so much. He is now taller than me, it amazes me how much he has grown into a handsome young man. January: (This Month) My baby sister turned eighteen..Oh my goodness. Time flies, she is soon to graduate high school. I am so proud of her. My dad also turned fourty - sorry for writing this pops! - but he is still big pimpin! ha ha. So obviously, 2013 was nowhere close to eventful, I am determined to make this year a more adventurous and memory filled one. My life energy is still generated through impulsive cosmetic and skincare purchases. Even more so lately. I Can not wait to share looks and thoughts with you all! I am constantly posting on instagram (if you want to receive light-speed replies, it would be ideal to contact me on there) I promise you all that I will keep updated to share reviews, tutorials, and random stories as much as I can. Please- Share/ Comment. Any creative criticism is welcome. I love you all! My instagram is @flowerbeezy

2013

Soo.. I believe it has been over two months since I last blogged...and I have only posted twice. Shame, shame; I know. But I am back! So, I plan on filling you in on my personal life, and providing a mini drugstore palette review! Ya know, to warm back up ;)

Welp, I Survived...
The first quarter at the university! Yup, four A's... I feel accomplished and stress free- for the moment. I go back January 7th and am a little nervous but definitely more confident than when I first began.

These past two months generally consisted of hanging out with my close friends, and family; Jackie, Rikki, and Leo mostly. Oh yea, how could i forget! I FINALLY turned eighteen on December 7th! All of my friends are above 18, and have been "waiting" for this day for a very long time! haha Tell me why it has been over three weeks, and we still have not gone to a club!? Oh well, I am fortunate and greatful to have the friends that I do, we spent the rest of my good friend "OG Beans' " 21st birthday night together, into the beginning of my birthday morning. It was...embarrassing to say the least, but we enjoyed it!

-My baby brother David turned thirteen on December 10th, which caused a great deal of sadness just thinking how much he has grown, and the thought that my baby sister Kayla is soon to be seventeen.

-Daniel (aka "My Joshie") turned 21 on Christmas Eve! I have not seen him in a while but I decided to include him in this post to show that he is in mind :)

-I also survived Christmas~ I last minute shopped and got gifts for my grandma, two of my sisters, and one of my little brothers; the lines were so hectic. I shopped around the 22nd; Boy, did I learn my lesson! I thought school would have taught me to stop procrastinating, lol! Anyways, I got some really great gifts that I am more than thankful for and should be included in upcoming reviews. They will pretty much be products that I love, obviously, so you will get more description/swatch posts  haha, the gifts are secret and will be posted randomly! I gained four "members" which truly makes me smile. I hope you all enjoy my blog, and follow me along for the ride! Now for the review, finally...

*Notice the quality is much better than my previous post ;) Thank the iPhone 4 to iPhone 5 Upgrade! I still am setting up a station with proper lighting in order for me to show perfect colour, but this is doing the job so far!**

Blue Had Me At Hello Palette

Wet'N'Wild Color Icon "737 Blue Had Me At Hello" Eyeshadow Palette
Purchased this for $5.29 at Walgreens- although that is still fairly cheap I have heard of others purchasing it for less. Anywho, let's get started..

The Palette:
Anywho, this includes eight different shades, in my personal opinion i would only consider the deep black one to the left matte. This is at first glance, the rest seem to have shimmer and have a satin finish. It also comes with a tiny eyeshadow application sponge/ angled applicator brush on a double sided wand.

The Packaging: Nothing too special. More than I expected for the price, however. I like how the clear plastic top case is thick, I feel if it were thinner it would be flimsy and break easily. There is no fabulous design- simply the Wet n Wild logo engraved on a clear case, that attaches to a plastic black bottom.

  First two shades (upper left):
1)The first one somewhat disappointed me. It was so sheer, and there was a good amount of glitter fallout. I thought that it the cause of this would be the little brush that they provided- but it came out the same regardless of what I used. It would be good as a highlight on the brow bone as stated, or on the inner eye near the tear duct- but not something to put on the actual lid.

2) This colour actually surprised me! I thought that it was going to be very sheer due to my experience with the first shade that I tested, but it was the opposite! The colour surprised me- it looks like it only has a very slight light blue undertone- but once swatched it looks very much like a frosted white with peeks of silver and blue. Very pigmented.

Next two shades (bottom left):
3) This colour disappointed me! I mean, it looks so beautiful in the pan, like there would be an abundance of blue sparkle in the shadow. However, when swatched, it seemed like mostly semi- matte black, with a few deep blue sparkles thrown in. These sparkles WILL fallout The black is not too pigmented and could be considered somewhat sheer. A very good primer would be necessary, and the eyeshadow would have to be applied and layered multiple times.

4) This is a matte black. There is nothing too special- it is not amazingly pigmented- but not horrible. A base (primer) will be needed- it fades easily.

Two shades (top right):
5)This is pretty much an icy blue- I have heard many say that this shade has good pigmentation, maybe I got a bad batch- but I had to layer a lot. It is a lovely frosted colour- i could not picture myself putting on such a blue to my brow bone, however. Maybe near the tear duct.

6) This is definitely my favorite shade of the palette! Such a pretty teal, or aqua if you must. Gold peaks through this shade- it gives it a really nice sheen and is an even nicer addition to the colour. This is what made me truly not regret purchasing the palette.

Last two shades (bottom right):
7) Another shade that has made me feel satisfied! Such a pretty midnight blue, a little too dark to be royal, too light to call it a navy imo. It packs a punch with pigmentation- however, I was horrified to find a piece of hair in it! I photographed the lower two shades on the left and noticed a hair on the photo. I reached to pull it off and it came straight from this eyeshadow! What the heck WnW!

8) A semi matte black eyeshadow with silver sparkle. This is extremely similar to the blue sparkled one. I feel like this one actually has more sparkle though and is more pigmented in comparison. Maybe it was the batch I got. This will have to be handled similarly, packed on and with a very sticky base. This fades very easily.

Overall: This palette had a very good price tag. There were some colours that I really loved and could see myself working with, and some that I just did not care for. I would only recommend this palette to those on a budget, looking for a few good eyeshadows. Do not get me wrong, some of these shadows beat out name brands as far as pigmentation and quality- but not all of them. I think this is a great deal, and really look forward to the midnight blue and aqua shades. I kind of freaked out about the hair incident, I am a germaphobe it was like a nightmare, haha! But I could envision some cute looks with this. Sometimes sheer and unpigmented ones could be worked around by wetting the brush- I have yet to try that. I also encourage primer with all of these- the wear time does not seem to be long and they are prone to fade. No regrets with this purchase and hope others would try it, let me know what you think about this palette!

HAPPY NEW YEARS LOVE BUGS!
Everyone has asked me what I am going to change about this New Year, I always replied "nothing" because I really did not know. Of course, more followers would motivate me, so join me with your opinions and questions and I would be glad to oblige! Constructive criticism is key. Thank you for reading! Stay tuned!

First Mini- Spree Review!

Hey Guys!
I'm barely getting to my first haul/ review, and I truly am sorry for the delay although I only have one follower so far, haha. Anywayssss, these are just some purchases that I made today. I am not biased when it comes to high-end vs. low-end, I have found some great drugstore products before. These are just personal opinions! Since this is my first post, it'll consist of cheapies. Lots of love xoxo

P.S Sorry for the crappy camera quality for the lip photos, my new phone should be in soon, this was supposed to be posted yesterday but my laptop died.

 Purchased Items:
1- Creme #99 Eyelashes (No Review- great lash)
2- C.O. Bigelow's Rose Salve
3- C.O. Bigelow's Mentha Lip Shine
4/5- NYX eyeliner pencils in 940 Black Shimmer and 901 Black
6/7- NYX lip liner pencils in 813 Plush Red and 836 Bloom
8/9/10- NYX Gloss in 06 Mauve , 13 Peach , and 19 Apricot
11- NYX Killer Lips! Brush-On Lipgloss in 120 Burgundy
11- E.L.F Eyeshadow Pigment in Tropical Teal

1. C.O. Bigelow's Rose Salve- I have tried this previous to yesterday's purchase, and let me tell ya; this is amazing! Not only does it hydrate and soften the lips- but it can be used for all around body purpose (elbows, cuticles, knees, face- although i do not see myself putting this on my face). It does not give a sticky or thick feeling when wiping off, and has an amazing rosey scent- some may find that sickening but personally i love it and recommend it! It has a clear finish.

2.C.O. Bigelow's Mentha Lip Shine- I am NOT a lipgloss person (which is weird when this whole post is about cheapie glosses) but anywhooo, this stuff really feels good on the lips, it's one of those that when you breathe a coldness is felt and it moisturizes. The scent may seem a little too strong and overbearing- the package states " Mint-infused for fresh breath" which explains, but I personally love everything about this; the smell, the taste, the feel is all quite enjoyable. I like the consistency because it gives a nice shine without the stickiness. The removal is smooth and does not leave a horrible feeling (greasy/oily/sticky). Love Love Love! The packaging could have had a better contrast, however. It has a clear finish.

 NYX EYE PENCILS
 3. 940 Black Shimmer- Boy, oh boy, I think i'm going to love you. This is a VERY deep black with a few specks of sparkle (at first). Once I wiped the swatch off of my hand- all of the glitter miraculously showed up! Have not actually used yet- but definitely see this good for the lower eyeliner.

4. 901 Black- Well, I swatched this right after Black shimmer- and quite frankly I was a little disappointed just because the Black shimmer was so pigmented! I have had better eyeliners, so I just handed this one to my
grandma. It's not bad, just not the best!

NYX LIP PENCILS
5. 813 Plush Red- This is a nice red, I would not call it bright, but just a fair red with orangey tint in it. The NYX pencils are not as creamy as usuals I have- but I find that okay personally because it's harder to mess up while lining your lips! It lasts a good amount of time and I believe it to be a very pretty colour- I may try it with MAC's So Chaud Lipstick?? Hmm...

6. 836 Bloom- WOOOOWW, this is a gorgeous fuchsia! A hot, deep pink with just the right amount of purple under-tone.I would assume it would look pretty with MAC's Girl About Town. The cool thing about these is that if a matte finish is wanting to be achieved- you could just use the pencil on the whole lip! It was a nice staying power- and does not dry out TOO badly, but beware!

Here's a swatch of the above four NYX products listed, in order:
Black Shimmer Eye Pencil, Black Eye Pencil, Plus Red Lip Pencil, and Bloom Lip Pencil.

NYX GLOSS
7. NYX 06 Mauve Lipgloss- This definitely was my favorite of the three, simply because it was the most opaque and gave the best colour pay off. I would describe it as a pinky mauve- with some purple given allowing it to be somewhat diverse. The colour is gorgeous- but the application is a struggle being streaky and easily to clump- different formula, same colour= perfection. No shimmer.

8. NYX 13 Peach Lipgloss- This is not opaque, and in fact very sheer. I have somewhat pigmented lips myself, so this really did nothing for my lips, I tried it with a concealed lip and the colour is more defined, but still not strong. It was definitely more of a pink than a peach. Contains shimmer.

9. NYX 19 Apricot Lipgloss- Very sheer as well, in my case. With a concealed lip, goes on a lot better! Actually really liked the shade, I wish my whole lip looked like the colour first dabbed on though however :( There was no shimmer, which is something i love about this one, wish it was a little more opaque.

Overall:
Mauve and Apricot are very lovely shades, Peach not so much. I do not recommend these, the colour pay-off is not impressive and there is very little product inside the tube. The feel left after removing these glosses is disgusting and greasy/oily. If NYX tweaked their formula a bit and increased the opacity, I would be happy to repurchase! But as of now, I will not. $2.99 each isn't so bad- maybe a beginner would enjoy messing with these!
Top Left- Regular Lip Top Right- Mauve Bottom Left- Peach Bottom Right- Apricot

NYX Killer Lips! Brush- On Lipgloss
10. 120 Burgundy Lipgloss- Shimmer! Ahhh, nooo! But anywho, very lovely shade; kind of a dark vampy red meets raspberry with tiny pink shimmer. It is not completely opaque, but offers too much coverage to be considered sheer.Beautifully pigmented. I actually liked the colour, but it had the same finishing feel as the other lipglosses :/ It also has a scent that smells too much like the dentist! Yuck! I may use this one again over a lipstick if I feel I need to go for a glossy feel. Most likely it'll collect dust though because I am Mrs. Matte, haha!

E.L.F Pigment Eyeshadow
11. Tropical Teal Eyeshadow-
I know what you're saying..ahhh! what happened to the hole'd top that goes over the pigment? I had to remove it! It wouldn't allow the pigment to come out. The only problem with this, that little covering and the container- it just makes it so messy. Pigment is always messy though :( Anyways, this is a gorgeous teal colour which unfortunately has shimmer in it, and a satin finish. This is easy to build up- and goes on smoothly. Beware of fall-out! it could ruin your whole face if you do not block below the eye properly! I am not too big on E.L.F but this is nice, do not judge the pigment by the shadow you get out through the little holes, I wasn't too happy until I got that little sucker off!

Welp...
That's it for this post, i hope you guys thought it was decent- please send me any kind of feed back :) I could be found on twitter/instagram @flowerbeezy
